As part of the last range trip, we got some numbers. The Forward Mount was at the far end of a carbine length rail. The Mid Mount was flush with the forward edge of the receiver. Target was 10 yards down range, object was to mount the gun, find the dot, squeeze the trigger:
|Foward Mount||Mid Mount|
|Support Patrol Ready|
|Support Kneeling Barricade|
When discussing the results, E stated that the “best” option was just to work on a consistent mount. I’m not entirely sold on the far-forward mount. I suspect E’s going to keep his rifle setup like it is now, so there may be updates in the future.
